Yellow-bellied glider (Petaurus australis)

Family Petauridae

Also known as the fluffy glider, the yellow-bellied glider is found in forests down the east coast of the Australian mainland.  They are arboreal, wrist-winged marsupials capable of gliding up to 150 m between trees.  These nocturnal gliders typically sleep in family groups within tree hollows during the day.  Their diet consists of nectar, honey dew, insects, pollen and tree sap.
